Develop Salone Monitoring Tour with Stakeholders and Partners

Solidaridad in partnership with Develop Salone (DESAL), conducted a four-day field visit to assess the progress of the *Developing an Inclusive and Sustainable Cashew Agroforestry Value Chain (DISCA-VC)* project, implemented under the European Union’s Jobs and Growth Programme in Sierra Leone. The monitoring team visited the project communities across Bombali, Tonkolili, Port Loko, and Kambia districts.

According to Andrew Kojo Morrison, Acting Country Representative of Solidaridad in Sierra Leone, the midyear joint monitoring provides an opportunity for Solidaridad and other key stakeholders to engage directly with the project team and farmers, share experiences, and offer technical support.

“This exercise serves as a feedback mechanism that helps realign project intervention strategies,” Morrison explained.

The visit, which commenced on Wednesday, 12 July, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, 15 July 2023. The Agro-Tech initiative is a four-year programme led by Solidaridad aimed at creating jobs,

enhancing rural livelihoods, and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity in Sierra Leone.
